New drawings

106. Willibrord

The statue for Saint Willibrord was created when he died 1,200 years ego (in 739). Willibrord cut his cloak in two and gave half of it to a naked beggar. Origin of our city flag and heraldic weapon.

Location: Janskerkhof, Utrecht, the Netherlands

107. Neude

The best known square of Utrecht. Sparkling in the summer, a covered skating track in the winter.

108. Town hall bridge

With a stylized Dom tower which reminds of Utrecht red.

109. The caryatids of the Sinkel Shop

Cariatides were placed in front when the Sinkel Shop was renovated to 'catering warehouse'. Good friend Tom was deputy head of cultural affairs of the city of Utrecht. He told me that the caryatids were imported from Germany. When they were placed, one of the caryatids fell from the crane. The quay was heavily damaged. Nothing can be seen of that.
